The upcoming General Election is an important one for Democrats in national, state, and local races. We have a great opportunity to win races at all levels of government. Having the strong national candidate we have in Barack Obama at the top of our ticket will help bring more voters to support all Democratic candidates.

There are several competitive races for the State Senate. The Senate Democratic Caucus has set an ambitious but realistic goal of increasing our majority in the Senate. Currently, Democrats outnumber Republicans in the New Mexico Senate by only six votes. An increased majority will benefit us not only in the near future but for many years to come because the candidates elected in November will have the responsibility of voting on redistricting in 2011.

The Caucus would like to provide financial support to as many campaigns as we can. But, in order to do so, we need to raise a significant amount of money.
